While serving as an orthodontist in the US Air Force, he was appointed as a faculty and instructor in the Tri-Services Orthodontic Residency Program for his orthodontic knowledge and expertise to train the Army, Navy, and Air Force dentists at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio.
